“That’s a Good Number”: Fans Pour Mixed Reactions as Joe Fournier Reveals PPV Numbers for Their Controversial KSI Fight

The fight between KSI and Joe Fournier certainly generated a lot of hype. However, when the dust settled, and the result came out, fans were left with a bitter taste in their mouth. A couple of months ago, both of them went against one another at OVO Wembley Arena, London, on May 13. The fight went as many expected. JJ dominated the billionaire boxer from the start. He even sent him tumbling down on the first round of the bout itself.

However, the 6-round fight ended shot when during the second round, as KSI threw a right hook and his elbow caught Fournier instead. This knocked out the boxer and KSI was declared the winner of the fight. When asked about the illegal hit, the YouTuber claimed that it was a clean right hook that won him the fight. However, later on, the fight was declared a no-contest, and JJ received a lot of criticism from fans all over the world.

Fournier also branded him as a cheater for landing that illegal shot. However, recently he took to social media to share a rather interesting detail. He revealed to IFN Boxing that their bout had managed to get around 360,000 PPV buys. He also called out JJ for a rematch.

Another fan claimed that the fight only got such sales because of KSI elbowing Fournier.

Meanwhile, someone else did the match and was not impressed with the numbers. He claimed that with the price of £9.99, the total revenue can be considered to be around £5 million, including the gate. He stated, “Without sponsorships, these events will not last.”

Assuming true, KSI fan base is like 80% UK. Ppv is 9.99 in UK. So let’s say 5 mil including in person tickets. Without sponsorships these events will not last.

However, one fan came in defense of the numbers and stated, “That’s a good number. I’m tired of YouTube fans thinking anything below 500k is a flop.” Furthermore, he added that JJ was fighting against a “nobody”, so even 200k would’ve sufficed.

That’s a good number.

I’m tired of YouTube fans thinking anything below 500k is a flop.

That’s not how PPV’s work.

KSI fought a nobody…. Even 200k guys would’ve been a success to break even.

One fan shared that the upcoming bout between KSI and Tommy Fury will do more than 600k. However, he added, “It has nothing to do with ksi and fury.” He said that the main draw of the event is Logan Paul vs. Dillon Danis.

Another fan claimed that people only watched the bout “because people wanted to see KSI fight.”
