Four People Injured in Shooting in Chicago’s Brainerd Neighborhood

On Monday evening, a shooting in Chicago’s Brainerd neighborhood left four people injured, including three teenagers. The incident occurred before 8 p.m. in the area of West 93rd Street and South Racine Avenue.

According to police, the victims were inside a second floor residence when a verbal altercation occurred and a 16-year-old boy fired shots. A 15-year-old boy was shot in the right shoulder and hospitalized in fair-to-serious condition. A second 15-year-old boy sustained gunshot wounds to the abdomen and left arm and was listed in critical condition.

The alleged gunman, who is 16 years old, was shot in the right hand and abdomen. He was listed in fair condition. A fourth victim, a 21-year-old man, sustained gunshot wounds to the right shoulder and buttocks. He was said to be in critical condition.
