Fellow customer Felicia Nelson also shared her reasons for shopping on Christmas Eve. “I work so much, so I haven’t had time. But Macy’s on State Street, that’s my favorite,” she said with a smile.
According to the National Retail Federation, consumer spending this year is expected to reach a record $902 per person on average for gifts, food, and decorations. This is about $25 more per person than last year, demonstrating the growth and strength of the economy.
