‘My wife’s a warrior:’ Jonathan Owens talks Paris experience, Simone Biles’ Olympic success

Jonathan Owens, safety for the Chicago Bears, had the incredible opportunity to support his wife, Simone Biles, during her triumphant Olympic run in Paris. The couple’s love and admiration for each other was on full display, and Owens couldn’t be more proud of his wife’s resilience and determination.

Owens, who was granted time off from Bears training camp to attend the Olympics, was seen in the stands cheering on Biles throughout her performances. His reactions and vocal support were captured and shared on social media, making him an instant internet sensation. During a press conference on Tuesday morning, Owens spoke extensively about his experience in Paris and the journey that led to this moment.

One of the main topics of discussion was Biles’ ability to overcome her struggles in Tokyo and make the Paris Olympic team. Owens expressed his pride in his wife’s resilience, saying, “When she did decide to come back, she accomplished everything she set her mind to.” He went on to explain that he has witnessed firsthand the intense training and struggles that Biles had to go through, including a minor calf injury on the first day of competition. Despite this setback, Biles was able to push through and continue performing at the highest level.

“My wife is a warrior,” Owens declared, highlighting her strength and determination. He also mentioned that not many people were aware of her injury and were amazed by her grace and composure on the competition floor.

As videos of Owens’ reactions in the stands went viral, the reporter couldn’t help but ask him about it. In response, Owens simply stated, “That’s just me being genuine. You can’t hide your excitement when you’re out there.” He added that his viral reactions were a result of his love for Biles and his immense pride in her accomplishments.

The conversation then shifted to Owens’ experience in Paris as a whole, including the behind-the-scenes of the Games and the city itself. He shared that he took the time to learn more about the history and even visited popular sites like the Louvre. In the stands, he was surrounded by people from different cultures and backgrounds, all coming together to support their respective teams. Owens noted that regardless of where they were from, the common language of competition brought everyone together.

In addition to being a supportive husband, Owens also made sure to stay on top of his game as an NFL player. He revealed that he was continuously communicating with his coaches and teammates, and even watched film and the recent game on his iPad from Paris. As for any concerns about falling behind on the field, Owens reassured that he doesn’t feel that way at all.

When asked if Biles was looking forward to coming home and supporting her husband during the football season, Owens replied with a smile, “She is super excited to be an NFL wife. That’s one of her favorite things to do. She loves to just be in the stands and watch the game.”

As for what the future holds for the couple, Owens stated that they plan on enjoying each other’s company and living in the moment. “You just kinda got to let go and let God,” he said. “What’s gonna be for us is gonna be for us.”

It’s evident from Owens’ words that the love and support between him and Biles is unwavering, and their bond only grows stronger with each passing day. As the couple continues to inspire each other in their respective fields, we can’t wait to see what the future holds for this dynamic duo. We wish them all the best and congratulate Biles on her incredible achievements at the Olympics.
