The incident occurred at the intersection of Buffalo Grove Road and Larraway Drive, where Mazur was out for his daily jog. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Mazur and his wife, Tatyana, immigrated to the United States from Kyiv in the late 1990s and quickly made a name for themselves in the dance community. Together, they founded Mazurdance, a studio located in Buffalo Grove. Mazur’s great-niece, Maria Khrakovsky, shared that he had been dancing since he was 25 years old and was deeply passionate about his craft.
But dancing was not the only thing that Mazur was passionate about. He was also dedicated to maintaining his physical health and would often go for daily jogs of up to four miles. He kept meticulous notes of his blood pressure and always made sure to take care of his body. This dedication to his health is just one of the many ways that Mazur inspired those around him.
