Governor Mara Lezama attended as a guest at the XV Congress of the Confederation of Autonomous Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM), where Claudia Sheinbaum, National Coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, was also present.
During the event in Mexico City, the Governor of Quintana Roo reaffirmed her full support and collaborative efforts with Claudia Sheinbaum, whom she accompanied at the head table alongside other authorities and the leader of Morena, Mario Delgado.
The CATEM congress serves as a platform for dialogue with union representatives to achieve better working conditions for employees, particularly those from Quintana Roo.
This union, established 15 years ago, has around 7 million members across 1,192 labor organizations in various sectors.
“Thank you, Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum, for taking a moment from your schedule. First, you governed my homeland, which I am proud to call Tlálpan; then you governed this city where we are today, and soon you will see what happens. A top-tier woman, thank you, dear friend,” said Pedro Haces, union leader.
Sheinbaum responded by formally announcing a coalition with the workers’ union.
“Next Monday, we will begin the formal process of my campaign for the Presidency of the Republic, and I want to invite you all to join us in this process. I commit to the workers that we will continue defending their wages and labor benefits because we know that when workers do well, businesses and Mexico do well.”
