Colorado Legislators Unite to Tackle Human Trafficking of Children
In a united effort to protect the most vulnerable members of our society, Colorado legislators have come together to propose stricter penalties for human trafficking of children. Republican House Minority Leader Patrick Neville stated, “This is not a partisan issue; this is a human issue. We must stand together and do everything in our power to protect our children from this horrific crime.”
The proposed legislation is not the only action being taken by Colorado legislators to combat human trafficking. In 2018, Governor Jared Polis signed a bill to expand the state’s human trafficking laws and create a task force to study the issue. This new proposal builds upon those efforts and shows the state’s commitment to eradicating human trafficking.
