Home Surrounded in Manhunt for Maine Shooting Suspect

Law enforcement officers surrounded a home in Lewiston, Maine, Thursday night in search of Robert Card, the suspect in Wednesday’s deadly shooting.

The Lewiston Police Department, Maine State Police, and FBI are all involved in the search for Card, who is suspected of shooting and killing two people and injuring three others.

The incident occurred Wednesday evening on the corner of East Avenue and Bartlett Street in Lewiston. Witnesses reported seeing a man in a black hoodie walking down the street and shooting at people.

The victims were identified as 31-year-old Richard Card, Robert’s brother, and 33-year-old Sarah Smith, a neighbor. Three others were injured in the shooting, but their identities have not been released.

Since the shooting, law enforcement has been working around the clock to track down Robert Card and bring him to justice.

Thursday night, the search intensified as officers surrounded a home in Lewiston that they believed Card was hiding in. After several hours of searching, however, Card was not located and the search was called off.

The Lewiston Police Department is asking anyone with information on Robert Card’s whereabouts to come forward. They believe he may have left the state and could be anywhere.

The Maine State Police is offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to Card’s arrest.

“We want justice for the victims and their families,” said Lewiston Mayor Mark Cayer. “This is a tragedy that has shaken our community, and we are doing everything we can to find the person responsible.”
